EUROL 4 provided targeted expert support to the Commercial Court of Montenegro to improve the efficiency and quality of bankruptcy proceedings. During a mission conducted from 13 April to 1 May 2026, EUROL 4 short-term expert Zeljko Simic analysed Montenegro’s bankruptcy legislation, reviewed the current caseload and provided on-the-job mentoring to judges and relevant court staff.
The mission also included consultations with representatives of the Commercial Court, Appellate Court, Supreme Court, Special State Prosecutor’s Office, bankruptcy trustees and lawyers. Based on the findings, EUROL 4 developed recommendations aimed at addressing procedural challenges, strengthening court management and supporting the more efficient resolution of bankruptcy cases.
